📅 December 8, 2024: big* waves possible
However, strong winds and stormy conditions will disrupt the waves.
Some big waves are anticipated but no truly giant waves are expected.
📅 November 28-30, 2024: big* waves possible
At the very least, there will be good medium-sized waves to surf.
📅 November 25-26, 2024: giant* waves
A very strong swell is approaching, expected to generate giant waves* (see legend below).
Wave sets of approximately 15 meters are anticipated.
The afternoon of the 25th (Monday) is expected to have the largest waves, while the morning of the 26th (Tuesday) should still offer good conditions, with wave power gradually decreasing throughout the afternoon.
It won't be the "most giant sea ever," but the swell promises a very powerful ocean.
The forecast shows almost ideal wave direction, with some offshore winds contributing to good wave formation.

📅 October 19-23, 2024: big* waves possible
📅 October 17-18, 2024: big* waves
On the 17th (Thursday), there will be a lot of wind, which is expected to mess up the waves a bit.
However, on the 18th (Friday), the wind will drop significantly, allowing well-formed waves suitable for surfing, although the swell will already be decreasing in power.
📅 October 9, 2024: giant* waves storm
This will be the first truly strong swell of the new big wave season for winter 2024/2025, which starts in October, as September was weak.
Finally, during this period, a swell is coming that promises to generate giant waves (see legend below),
ranging from 12 to 15 meters high, starting in the afternoon in Portugal,
but unfortunately they will be affected by the extreme wind caused by the remnants of Hurricane Kirk. It will be a stormy day, and there might not be any big wave surfing.
This hurricane, which formed in the open Atlantic, will still reach the coast with strong winds.
The Atlantic Ocean is particularly active at the moment, with several major storms.

The film/documentary Maya and the Wave is coming home to Nazaré!
Join us for a special screening of this award-winning documentary,
which tells the story of world record-breaking surfer Maya Gabeira.
The film runs 1h30 and will be followed by a conversation with Maya Gabeira and director Stephanie Johnes, moderated by João de Macedo, founder of Hope Zones.
Admission is free, and seats are first come, first served.

The next "TUDOR NAZARÉ Big Wave Challenge" surfing competition will take place during the 2024/2025 winter season in Portugal: from November 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. The waiting period has already started. We will provide alerts as soon as the event date is confirmed.
