After an intense season, we're close to know who wins the Big Wave awards 2017/2018. The nominees are announced and on April 28, the winners will be known at the ceremony in California.

The nominations belong to surfed waves between March 20, 2017 and March 20, 2018, in seven categories: XXL Biggest Wave, Ride of the Year, Paddle Award, Tube of the Year, Wipeout of the Year, Best Female Performance and Best Male Performance.

Nazaré has nominations in all categories, except for Tube of the Year. The photographer André Botelho, from Nazare, has two photos nominees for the Biggest Wave category, with the surfers Benjamin Sanchis and Sebastian Steudtner. Good luck all nominees: surfers, photographers and videographers!
